In the Dark.....

I was home the entire weekend but was busy all the while. I was trying to get the sound card on my laptop to work with a new version of the Linux kernel (2.6.4). I wasn't writing a driver of anything just trying to tweak some parameters. Apparantly the Linux kernel (2.6) now supports the sound system thru ALSA (Advance Linux Sound Architecture) rather than old OSS. It took me a while to get my sound card working with ALSA. Sometimes I got the sound working but my wireless stopped working and vice versa but finally got it to function as I wanted it to. It was lots of pain and frustration but every moment was worth after I got it working, since I could then listen to some of my favorite songs including "In the dark" by Al Stewart
