Getting cakephp working on Ubuntu

Create a virtual host in apache by following the instructions given here. Then refer to the cake wiki for getting cakephp to work.

Sunday evening....

Had a teleconference with my childhood friends and we spoke for almost two hours. It is always great to hear from them. I have been extremely fortunate with the friends that I have however it is bit sad that we aren't near each other.

Anyway have started PHP programming after getting apache2 and mysql working on my Linux server at home. PHP is really fun and seems very similar to PERL.

Fall is almost here....

So it has been a long time that posted something here. It is a sunny Saturday morning and since I was relaxing after a long time, I decided to pour in something here.

Two weeks ago Tanu and me had been to Washington, DC to meet Tanu's Uncle and Aunt as well as her cousins. I had great time meeting and spending time with them. Had some great home made food and the folks were really wonderful. Hopefully will meet them more often. Also encountered a good read called "Know How" by Ram Charan while I was there. I have now got that book from public library here and have completed reading half of it. I plan to finish reading it by the next weekend.

Have been really busy with office work. Currently working on a customer issue and am enjoying it since I looking into things that I had never looked at before. It's a good idea to keep learning new things especially if you are in the tech field. Tanu seems to be very busy as well since she has to sometimes work even from home in the evenings.

Have been planning to start my work on the SPCE Alumni - USA chapter website since a while now but haven't don't anything with respect to it. I plan to hone my PHP and MySQL skills with it but don't know when. Also Tanu is planning new flowers for our garden and we need to make some progress on that front as well before the winter sets in.

Anyway Tanu is packing the picnic bag now and we plan to spend most of the afternoon on a lake hiking or reading books. Also will be going to a party this evening....

It's been a while....

...since I posted anything here. Have move to a new home and have really busy with work related to it. Have hardly done anything new and need a break from the usual worries of life....Hopefully will go on a vacation somewhere nearby...
