Mumbai under seige

I am native of Mumbai, the city that was attacked by terrorists three days ago. There has been lots of finger pointing about who the terrorists were but I don't give a damn about it. It is the duty of the government of India to prevent and protect it's citizens from any kind of attack from anywhere in the world. Also this time I did not feel a thing about this attack (complete apathy), the reason being Mumbai was attacked in 2006 as well and there has been no outcome about that attack until today. I don't have any hopes from the Indian government about this attack as well. Also the way the whole operation was managed was simply hopeless. There were civilians and news reporters running free at all of the attack sites especially one at the Nariman House, which was housing the Jewish Rabbi and his family.

Worse is the statement made by the vice chief minister of Maharashtra "Such small incidents happen". I doubt he would have said the same if some of his family members would have lost their lives in the attack.

India - Aaha

It has been more than a week that Tanu and I came back from India and have been really busy since then. We have started of with our routine work and the reality sunk in, the day we started our jobs.

Anyway, our trip was simply awesome. It would be one of the most memorable month of my life. We had been to India after a very long time (Tanu after three and half years and me after more than four years). It was hard to believe that India could change so much. So many shopping malls and some many cars on the road. The country seems to progressing at light speed.

Apart from the hustle bustle of the wedding , we traveled a lot and met lots of our relatives. Apart from Mumbai and Pune the other places we went to were Nagpur, Edlabad, Kund, Malkapur and Lucknow. It was so much fun meeting all of relatives after such a long time, sometimes it was difficult to recognize the young ones since they have changed so much.

We could hardly sense when the month went by and we were back in the US. Really miss the colorful life in India especially after looking at the grey weather outside my bedroom window.
